Services for Individuals

Your personal information is everywhere on the internet, full stop. If you have ever bought something online, sent an email to someone, created a social media account, registered on a website, the fact of the matter is that your personal data - name, email address, and phone number at the very least  - is most likely kept on multiple servers around the world and you have no idea whether it's protected or being sold to third-parties.

Your personal data could be anywhere

Your personal information, just like your house, your bank account and your car, is your personal property. It just does not feel right when your personal property is being taken advantage of without you knowing or consenting about it. In fact, the more companies maintain your data, the higher the chances are of it being subject to a breach and end up in the hands of cyber criminals or somewhere for sale on the dark web.

Know your rights

You as an individual can stop your personal information from being sold or even kept by companies you no longer wish to have possession of your data. How do you do that?

First, you need to know your rights. For example, not every state in the United States offers the same protection to personal data as California does. It is true that there is federal law that sets limits on the usage of personal information but in most cases, this is not sufficient. It makes a huge difference what law you can rely on to invoke your rights and prohibit companies to exploit your data.

The European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides protection only in certain circumstances where a data subject, i.e. an individual, can rely on it and request that his or her information not be used any more and that is deleted by the controller, i.e. the company that collected your data. However, this is conditional on whether the controller falls within the scope of the Regulation.

Take action

The bottom line is that there are numerous hurdles, nuances and conditional requirements that a person who has not delved deeply into the realm of data privacy would not know anything about. That's where we at Data Privacy Global can help.

We can assist you in every step of the way on how to take action and at the very least, minimize the exposure or even completely remove your data from the hands of companies you no longer have any dealings with. We will have one-on-one with you and provide you an easy-to-follow tailored-made action plan that you can follow and make sure that you know who collects your personal information, what they do with it, what type of data they have, and all questions that concern your data. We will assist you with how to go about requesting that your data be deleted for good so that at the of the day, you have full control and knowledge of who has your personal information and for what purpose. We will leave no stone unturned and we will walk with you on this journey to your own 'data awareness'.
